Prof. David Simchi-Levi Wins 2nd Data Science Award in Months

Professor Simchi-Levi’s research in data science has had profound impact on the manufacturing and retail industry and has culminated in two recent INFORMS awards: the 2014 Revenue Management and Pricing Section Practice Award and the 2014 Wagner Prize for Excellence in Operations Research Practice, which utilized Simchi-Levi’s Risk Exposure Index™ to identify risk and mitigate disruptions in Ford’s automotive supply chain.

MIT researchers win 2014 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section Practice Award

MIT’s Kris Johnson, Alex Lee, and Prof. David Simchi-Levi — along with online retailer Rue La La — have received the 2014 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section Practice Award for a project that is expected to increase Rue La La’s revenues.
